Scientific Quality
Assess whether study design and methodology are appropriate for the research question in gastroenterology. Evaluate statistical analysis, data presentation, and whether conclusions are supported by results.
Originality and Impact
Consider the novelty of findings and potential impact on digestive disease diagnosis or treatment. Assess contribution to existing gastroenterology knowledge and clinical significance.
Reviews should include a summary of the manuscript, major concerns requiring revision, minor suggestions, and clear recommendation. Provide specific, actionable feedback to help authors improve their GI research manuscripts.
Report suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical concerns to the editor confidentially. Do not use manuscript content for personal advantage. Avoid harsh or personal criticism in reviews of gastroenterology submissions.
