Biography
Irma Brito, PhD, is Professora e Membro do Comité Científico at the Universidade de Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal. Her academic training spans multiple institutions, including the Universidade do Porto Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar, ISLA Santarém, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Coimbra, and Escola de Enfermagem Ângelo da Fonseca. Dr. Brito's research focuses on community health, participatory research, and peer education, contributing to evidence-based approaches in these fields. She has authored over 35 indexed publications, with her most-cited work being a 2018 systematic review on acupuncture and electroacupuncture for anxiety disorders, which has received 117 citations.
