Biography

Galal Mohamed Ismail is an Associate Professor at the University of Buraimi, Oman, where his research focuses on public health and ophthalmology in the Middle East region. His scholarly work addresses critical health issues affecting populations in this geographic area, with particular emphasis on vision and refractive conditions among children. His most-cited publication, "Refractive errors among schoolchildren in the Middle East: A systematic review and meta-analysis" (2024), synthesizes evidence on the prevalence and patterns of visual impairment in school-age populations, contributing to regional health policy and clinical practice. His research advances understanding of preventable health conditions and informs interventions to improve child health outcomes across the Middle East.
