Overview

Crop Physiology and Science is an interdisciplinary field of research that focuses on the physiological, biochemical, genetic, and morphological processes involved in the growth and development of crops. It aims to optimize agricultural production in a sustainable manner and to understand the impact of climate change on crop growth. By studying the interactions between the external environment and the crop genetic and physiological systems, crop physiology and science provides farmers with improved farming practices that help maximize yields. Additionally, crop physiology and science is used to develop new varieties of crops with improved traits, such as disease resistance, pest tolerance, and drought tolerance, that will ensure a higher crop yield. By understanding the physiological processes involved in crop production, crop physiology and science also contributes to the development of new methods for managing crop pests, weeds, and diseases.
