Overview

Agritourism is a form of tourism where visitors experience farm activities and rural hospitality in an agricultural setting. Agritourism helps to promote sustainable development and economic growth in rural areas, by providing a source of income for farmers and allowing them to stay on and profit from their land. Agritourism activities provide educational and recreational opportunities for visitors, and help to preserve traditional agricultural practices. Such activities may include visits to farm and ranch sites, agricultural fairs and festivals, wine-tasting, agricultural education programs, farmer's markets and other rural events. Agritourism is beneficial to both local farmers and the traveling public, and can be a great way to experience rural culture and the natural environment.
