Overview

Migraine without aura treatment refers to the medications and therapies used to reduce the severity or frequency of migraine headaches that do not have the warning signs, or the aura, which typically precedes a migraine. Such treatments range from over-the-counter remedies and lifestyle changes to prescription medications and certain forms of cognitive behavioural therapy. Keeping a headache diary, drinking adequate amounts of water, adequate rest, and avoiding triggers like caffeine, alcohol, and certain foods are just some of the natural approaches that may be beneficial. Sometimes, medications such as triptans, ergots, and analgesics are used to reduce the intensity of migraine symptoms. The goal of migraine without aura treatment is to manage the frequency and intensity of migraine headaches, ultimately improving quality of life.
