Indexing and discoverability
JWRH distinguishes journal identification, DOI registration, metadata harvesting, discovery services and digital preservation according to the function each service performs.

Different services, different functions
Registration and discovery services are not interchangeable. The records below describe the role each service performs without implying selective database coverage.
- ISSN registration
- ISSN 2381-862X identifies the serial publication. An ISSN is a journal identifier; it is not an indexing status.
- DOI registration
- Registered JWRH articles carry Crossref DOIs under prefix 10.14302. DOI links are displayed only where the deposited identifier resolves.
- Metadata harvesting
- Open Access Pub provides an OAI-PMH endpoint through which compatible services can request publication metadata.
- Scholarly graphs
- OpenAlex represents the journal and connected works in an open scholarly graph assembled from publication metadata.
- Scholarly search
- Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar can discover openly accessible article pages. Coverage and update timing are controlled by each service.
- Digital preservation
- This journal’s content is committed to Portico, a not-for-profit digital-preservation archive run by ITHAKA (the organization behind JSTOR). As articles are deposited they enter Portico’s permanent archive, so the scholarly record stays available for the long term — even if a title one day ceases to publish. Read our preservation policy.

PubMed Central deposit clarification
Eligible NIH-funded manuscripts may be deposited individually in PubMed Central through the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS). Deposit of an individual manuscript does not indicate that JWRH is indexed at the journal level in PubMed, MEDLINE, or PubMed Central.
Coverage updates
External services determine their own inclusion, crawling and refresh schedules. For a specific institutional or funder requirement, consult the relevant service or contact the editorial office.
Help metadata remain attributable
Authors can improve attribution and repository discovery without treating those actions as indexing guarantees.
- Use the same full name and institutional affiliation throughout the submission.
- Provide an ORCID iD where available.
- Supply a clear title, abstract and accurate keywords.
- Include a data-availability statement and repository identifier where appropriate.
- Share the canonical article URL rather than uploading altered copies.
- Follow institutional and funder repository requirements.
