Journal of Evolutionary Science

Aims and Scope

Journal of Evolutionary Science (JES) is a freely accessible, open access, international journal that publishes original research and reviews relating to evolutionary biology. The journal promotes a deeper understanding of the principles of evolution and how it affects diverse domains, including genomics, health, medicine, anthropology, ecology, and behavioral sciences. JES also publishes interdisciplinary research in evolutionary science that takes into account the effects of biological, anthropological, palaeontological, ecological, and mathematical approaches on evolutionary processes.

It publishes research from a broad range of disciplines that contribute to a better understanding of evolutionary processes, including theoretical and empirical research, studies on the factors that affect the genetic variation, and the effects of natural and artificial selection. JES covers topics related to population genetics, evolutionary genetics, evolutionary biology, modules and algorithms of gene structure, nuclear and organellar DNA, genomics, gene transcription, and gene expression. It also strives to provide new perspectives on evolutionary theory and to identify, develop, and evaluate research methods to address questions concerning evolutionary biology, genetics, biological, medical, and ecological topics, phylogenetics, comparative biology, conservation biology, global ecology, behavioral ecology, population genetics, bioinformatics, and evolutionary medicine.

JES publishes a broad range of research that addresses topics such as the molecular mechanisms of evolution, evolutionary genetics and genomics, evolutionary ecology and development, and the study of species diversity and adaption. As an online journal, JES is accessible to anyone with an internet connection. JES aims to advance scientific progress in the field of evolutionary science by providing a platform for the exchange of new ideas and research findings. The journal also seeks to bridge the gap between the theories and abstractions of evolutionary science and their application in the development of practical research solutions. Contributions that provide groundbreaking insights into the interdisciplinary nature of evolutionary science, and breakthroughs in evolutionary ecology, conservation biology, morphological diversification, and adaptation are encouraged.

The journal provides a platform for the publication of original research and reviews articles that cover a broad spectrum of topics including evolutionary biology, population genetics, phylogeography, ecology, biogeography, conservation biology, and evolutionary medicine. All submissions are subject to peer review by an international editorial board of experts. JES publishes articles on the evolution of organisms, which include phylogenetics and paleontology. JES's chief mission is to disseminate the most complete and reliable source of knowledge on the discoveries and recent developments in the form of Research, Reviews, Literature reviews, Conference proceedings, Case reports, Short communication, Thesis, Letters to editors and Editorials, etc., in the field of evolutionary science to make them freely available online without any limitations or any other subscriptions to researchers worldwide.

Articles published in JES cover a wide range of topics related to the field of evolution, the evolution of behavior, genomics and genome evolution, gene evolution, evolution of species, evolution of ecology, and conservation biology.
