Waiver Eligibility
Authors from low-income and lower-middle-income countries as defined by the World Bank may be eligible for partial or full APC waivers. Authors demonstrating genuine financial hardship may request consideration for reduced fees. Waiver requests are evaluated individually and must be submitted at manuscript submission. Waiver decisions do not influence editorial acceptance decisions. Early career researchers may also qualify for special consideration.

When is the APC charged?
The APC is invoiced only after your manuscript is accepted following peer review. There are no submission fees or charges for manuscripts not accepted. Authors receive invoices with detailed instructions upon acceptance.

Are there additional fees?
The APC covers all standard publication costs. No page charges, color figure fees, or supplementary material charges apply. Extended datasets are included at no extra cost. What you see is the complete publication fee.
What if I cannot afford the APC?
Contact our editorial office to discuss waiver options. We ensure inability to pay does not prevent publication of quality HIV research. Submit waiver requests at the time of manuscript submission for prompt evaluation.
Upon manuscript acceptance, authors receive invoices within two business days. Payment should be completed within thirty days for timely publication. Once payment is confirmed, articles proceed immediately to production and are published online within one week of final approval and author confirmation of page proofs.
