Overview
Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment commonly used to treat leukemia. Chemotherapy uses drugs to target and destroy rapidly dividing cells in the body, such as cancer cells. By killing cancer cells, it can help prevent or stop the spread of the disease. Side effects of chemotherapy include nausea, vomiting, hair loss, and fatigue. Chemotherapy is a very important treatment for people with leukemia as it can help increase the chances of remission, or even a cure. However it is important to note that although chemotherapy can help to control the symptoms of leukemia, it does not always lead to a cure.
