Overview

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). It is characterized by the presence of cells from a part of the immune system called B-cells in the mantle zone of the lymph nodes. Symptoms of MCL can include swollen lymph nodes, fatigue, night sweats, and weight loss. Treatment for MCL includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplantation. With the development of new therapies and improved understanding of MCL, mortality from the disease has decreased significantly in recent years. MCL is a challenging condition, but with proper management and close monitoring, patients can have a positive outcome.
