Overview

Giant cells are a type of macrophage specifically found in lymph nodes and other lymphoid organs. They play a significant role in the immune response, acting as an interface between the lymphocyte and antigen-presenting cell interactions, and promoting the processing and presentation of antigen to T and B lymphocytes. Giant cells can also play a role in controlling inflammation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis. They have been used in medical research to study infectious diseases, cancer, and immune disorders.
