Overview

Cell Biology Membranes and Sorting is a critical field of study focused on understanding the structure and dynamics of biological membranes and their role in sorting and transporting cellular components within an organism. These membranes provide an important interface between the inside and outside of the cell and act as a barrier, preventing unwanted substances from entering the cell and controlling the release of substances from the cell. The understanding of this sorting process at a molecular level helps us to understand how cells interact and how they maintain their internal environment. This knowledge has been applied to the development of new pharmaceuticals and therapies for diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, advances in this field of research have led to the development of novel organ-on-a-chip systems and bioengineering techniques, which have improved our understanding of how organs and organ systems function.
