Overview
Cysteine is an amino acid that is vital for many biological processes in the human body. It plays a key role in the formation of proteins and is used as a precursor of other molecules such as Coenzyme A, Glutathione and taurine. Cysteine is also important for the regulation of antioxidant activity in the body, and is involved in muscle growth and wound healing. Supplementation of cysteine can help to improve the body’s antioxidant defence system and reduce oxidative stress. It is also beneficial for healthy skin and hair, and can help to boost the immune system.
