Working experiences:

  • Induced resistance against grapevine pathogens.
  • Host-defense responses implicated in tolerance mechanisms.
  • Development of safe alternatives in controlling plant diseases.
  • Epigenetic regulation of gene expression (DNA methylation analysis using Bisulfite sequencing method)and its involvement in development biology of grapevine.
  • Somatic embryogenesis in grapevine from different explants.
  • Genetic transformation of embryogenic callus via Agrobacterium tumefaciens in grapevine.
  • Defense gene expression analysis by Real Time-q PCR.
  • Systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Plasmopara viticola (elicitation and priming mechanisms) in grapevine.
  • The role of secondary metabolism in grapevine resistance to pathogens (stilbenes, flavonoids, lignin).
  • The use of biological materials for waste water treatment processes and their valorization as fertilizer for plant growth improvement and disease control.
  • Manipulation of h-type redoxines to improve the quality of seeds under salt stress.
