Biography
Franciele Maria Pelissari is affiliated with the Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri in Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Her research focuses on the development of biodegradable materials and bio-based nanocomposites, with particular emphasis on cellulose nanofibers isolated from agricultural residues such as banana peels through chemical, mechanical, and enzymatic treatments. She has made significant contributions to the characterization and cytotoxicity assessment of starch-based nanocomposite films reinforced with natural fibers, as well as active bio-packaging applications. Her most-cited work, "Banana starch nanocomposite with cellulose nanofibers isolated from banana peel by enzymatic treatment: In vitro cytotoxicity assessment" (2019), has received 119 citations and exemplifies her expertise in sustainable materials derived from renewable sources.
