Biography
Shanmuganathan Chandrakasan is a senior clinical fellow in hematology-oncology, bone marrow transplantation, and immune deficiency at Emory University. His primary research interests focus on novel stem cell conditioning approaches and the role of stem cell survival pathways in transplantation. He also investigates immune barriers to engraftment, contributing to advances in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation outcomes. His most-cited work, "Frequency of HLA-DR+CD38hi T cells identifies and quantifies T-cell activation in hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, hyperinflammation, and immune regulatory disorders" (2024), has received 47 citations and reflects his expertise in immune dysregulation and hyperinflammatory conditions.
