Medicine is the science and practice of preventing, diagnosing, and treating disease and of maintaining and restoring health, encompassing clinical care, biomedical research, and the application of knowledge from the basic sciences to patient care. It integrates anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pathology with clinical reasoning across a wide range of specialties and care settings.
