Biography
Dr. Pawan Gupta, PhD, MS, is an Assistant Professor at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, India. He earned his MS (Pharm.) and PhD from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, where he specialized in pharmacoinformatics under the supervision of Prof. Prabha Garg and Prof. Nilanjan Roy. His research focuses on computer-aided drug design and discovery, molecular modelling, network pharmacology, and QSAR, with expertise in ligand-based and structure-based techniques including pharmacophore mapping, virtual screening, molecular docking, homology modeling, and molecular dynamics simulations. Dr. Gupta has authored more than 10 indexed publications, including his most-cited work on novel scaffold identification against the Mpro of SARS-CoV-2 using shape-based screening and molecular simulation methods (2024). His research aims to identify novel molecular scaffolds for various diseases and elucidate biological phenomena through computational approaches.
