Biography
Lucia Martin-Banderas is affiliated with the University of Seville, Spain, where her research focuses on the development of nanocarrier systems for drug delivery applications. Her work encompasses the design and optimization of lipid and polymeric nanoparticles, particularly PLGA-based platforms, for the delivery of cannabinoids and other therapeutic agents in the treatment of conditions including neuropathic pain, cancer, and lysosomal diseases. Her most-cited publication, "Single oral dose of cannabinoid derivate loaded PLGA nanocarriers relieves neuropathic pain for eleven days" (2017), with 60 citations, demonstrates the potential of engineered nanoparticles for sustained pain management.
