Biography
Krzysztof Marycz is affiliated with the International Institute of Translational Medicine (MIMT), where his research focuses on mesenchymal stem cells, regenerative medicine, and the impact of metabolic disorders and oxidative stress on cellular function. His work spans diverse applications, including the osteogenic differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells, biomaterial functionalization for enhanced cytocompatibility, and therapeutic interventions such as metformin and resveratrol to mitigate cellular senescence and mitochondrial dysfunction. His most-cited publication, "Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Isolated from Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Show Reduced 'Stemness' through an Altered Secretome Profile, Impaired Anti-Oxidative Protection, and Mitochondrial Dynamics Deterioration" (2019), has received 101 citations and exemplifies his contributions to understanding metabolic disease effects on stem cell biology. With over 45 indexed publications, Marycz has advanced translational approaches in veterinary and human ophthalmology, neural regeneration, and biomaterial development for tissue engineering.
