Reason for retraction: Following an editorial investigation, we confirmed redundant (duplicate) publication. A substantially similar article by the same authors was previously published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics (iMedPub) on 21 January 2025: Association of Body Mass Index (BMI) and Severity of COVID-19 — A Multicentric Study from Maharashtra, India. The earlier publication constitutes the version of record. The later OAP publication did not disclose prior publication or meet the criteria for acceptable secondary publication.

Process: The investigation followed COPE guidance for handling redundant publication. The corresponding author(s) and the editor of the other journal were notified and given the opportunity to respond prior to this decision. The Editor-in-Chief determined that retraction is required to correct the scholarly record.

Record status: The retracted article remains available to maintain the scholarly record and is clearly marked RETRACTED on the HTML and PDF. This notice links to the article, and the article links to this notice. The article’s open-license terms remain unchanged.
